Insufficient knowledge about nature conservation

Highly-educated Swedes with an interest in politics and the environment have insufficient knowledge about nature conservation, conservation projects and species, as noted in a survey carried out by the University of Gothenburg and the Natural History Museum in Gothenburg.

A questionnaire issued via the Citizen Panel at the University of Gothenburg shows that only 35 percent of respondents were familiar with the concept of nature conservation, with the remainder being uncertain or unfamiliar with the concept.
